Divorced in the Dark: The Phantom Designer's Trap
By @john1208
I signed the divorce papers in a cold, echoing hallway, completely exhausted by Tavish’s endless complaints about my 'useless' existence. Good riddance. But the moment his boots faded into the fog, a pale, silent courier handed me a sealed black cylinder. Inside was a blueprint and a letter written in my own handwriting, dated five years ago.
It turns out, my past self knew this day would come - and she set a trap so elaborate I had to wipe my own memories to make it work.
Now, Tavish's syndicate faces total ruin unless they can secure a massive military contract from the elusive weapons designer who vanished years ago. He is also desperately hunting the legendary hacker 'Zero' to fix his collapsing cyber-network. Watching him scramble to court the very aliases I am slowly remembering how to wear is almost too funny. I can't wait to see his face at the Centennial Banquet when the President of Kravat bypasses him entirely to bow to his 'useless' ex-wife. But as the fog thickens around the testing grounds and the breadcrumbs left by my past self grow increasingly sinister, I have to wonder: what exactly did I build in the dark, and who will survive when I finally turn it on?
