The Midnight Itinerary of Oltava
By @john1208
When my influencer ex dumped me on a live broadcast, I didn’t cry. I threw a fondant cake at his face, stole his custom jacket, and boarded a random flight to the perpetually fog-drenched megacity of Oltava. The plan was simple: drink, disappear, and mock the paparazzi from afar. Instead, I met Jarek - a brooding, supposedly broke drifter who matched my cynical energy perfectly, along with Boko, a chaotic local who aggressively fed us street skewers. For two weeks, Jarek and I explored Oltava’s eerie, vanishing midnight diners and neon-lit liminal spaces, forming an unshakable platonic bond to heal our burnout. But my 'spontaneous' trip got weird. Hotel reservations appeared under my childhood nickname. Cryptic notes in my own handwriting guided us to places Jarek secretly needed to see. When we part ways and I return home, I’m forced to take a job at a shadowy tech firm, only to find my 'drifter' friend is actually the CEO. Even worse? I discover who actually orchestrated our supposedly accidental meeting in Oltava: me, exactly one year ago. Why did my past self erase my memory, and what exactly are Jarek and I meant to stop?
