His Fair Queen
By @Cabbage
In the snow-locked medieval village of The Moss Celpa, Lucy - known to locals as Ariana - survives by her own rules. A fierce songwriter with a voice that can soothe or sting, she rejects traditional expectations, hiding her traumatic past beneath a colorful, eccentric exterior. When King Gillë of a neighboring European realm flees a bitter feud with his father, a humiliating clash of wills binds their fates together. Intrigued by her defiance and spellbound by her musical genius, Gillë offers Lucy a position inside his royal court. But the glittering castle is a viper's nest of political intrigue and ancient prejudice. Lucy must navigate courtly deception, her own crippling fear of intimacy, and a growing, dangerous passion for a king who cannot afford to love a commoner. As her tragic history threatens to catch up with her, Lucy must decide if she will bend the knee to tradition or rewrite the kingdom's laws entirely.
