Strolling on Lasers: The Beggar King of the Wasteland
By @john1208
Kou Yanzhao was the undisputed, notoriously ruthless king of the Mud-Stained Brotherhood - until he choked on a stolen chicken bone. He awakens on the wasteland planet of Orox in the starving body of a local scavenger, right in the middle of a public humiliation. A pompous Mecha-Enforcer fires a plasma rifle at Kou’s feet, laughing and ordering the 'trash' to dance. Instead, Kou utilizes his Cloud-Treading Swallow lightness skill, casually stepping on the laser blasts as if ascending a staircase. With a perfectly deadpan expression, he rips the multi-ton mecha's knee joint apart with a rusty pipe, sending the Enforcers into absolute, terrified hysteria. Thus begins a hilarious campaign of quiet destruction. Kou only wants a decent meal and a nap, but his brutal efficiency accidentally wins the starry-eyed devotion of elite Mecha Knight Rinzen Vael. Meanwhile, physical martial arts are banned as 'primitive' - but Magistrate Vorstag actually outlawed them because heavy breathing outside a mecha cabin guarantees infection from alien mutant spores. Can Kou’s ancient internal qi out-filter a planetary apocalypse, or will the government nuke his favorite new noodle stand?
