The Last Vespertine Echo
By @john1208
In the crumbling empire of Ravka, Vesna Kolar is a ghost, an impossible child of two warring bloodlines: the sun-blessed Aethel and the shadow-weaving Kymor. Her existence is a secret kept by the Silent Sisterhood, a cloistered order that has raised her in isolation. But when she awakens adrift on a spectral sea, a place from forgotten nightmares, she knows her sanctuary is gone. Hunted by a Void-born entity called the Nemesys, drawn to the unique resonance of her soul, Vesna is rescued by Stellan, a jaded mercenary who sees her only as a quick payday. Bound by his rash promise, Stellan is dragged into a desperate race across a dying land to find the Lacrimae - divine tears that are the only key to silencing her volatile power and stopping the Nemesys. With every relic they find, the monster grows stronger and the line between protector and captor blurs. Can Vesna master the catastrophic echo within her soul before it devours the world, or will the greatest betrayal come not from the monster hunting her, but from the one person she is learning to trust?
