His Sightless Shore
By @john1208
Lenya has spent her life in the Sunken Ring, a brutal arena where she was conditioned never to show weakness, never to cry. After a daring escape, she awakens on a storm-wracked islet, inside an ancient lighthouse that hums with forgotten power. Its sole occupant is Stellan, a towering, gentle man blinded by a corrosive blight, who perceives the world through the vibrant auras of living things. He offers her sanctuary, but Lenya is a weapon honed for violence, not a guest. She discovers her tears - the one thing she was trained to suppress - are the only substance that can soothe the blight eating away at Stellan's eyes. As they slowly lower their guards, Lenya begins to heal his sight, while Stellan’s quiet strength offers her a peace she's never known. But Stellan is not just a hermit; he is the last warden of a prison for a primordial entity, the very same entity the Sunken Ring's masters seek to resurrect. Can Lenya learn to cry for a man she's falling for, knowing that restoring his sight might be the final key to unlocking the apocalypse?
