The last Vael rising
By @Dhrubo Banik
Orphaned at six and hardened by London's unforgiving streets, Dhrubo Vael's life shifts when a Hogwarts letter offers escape. Adopted into the warm chaos of the Weasleys, he finds an unexpected anchor in Hermione Granger, whose sharp wit and kind heart challenge his stoic exterior. Dhrubo, a beacon of pragmatic strength and profound loyalty, carries a deep-seated fear of powerlessness, determined to shield those he loves from any darkness. His burgeoning ability, the Aetheris spell, allows him to absorb any form of magical or raw energy into his bracer, a power he'll painstakingly develop after his fourth year. As Voldemort's shadow lengthens, Dhrubo's unique gift and unwavering resolve become crucial, not just for Harry, but for preserving the innocence and lives of countless others in a world teetering on the brink of despair. Can one man's protective love truly stand against a rising tide of evil, or will his relentless need to shield others lead to his own undoing?
