Strike First, Pay Later
By @john1208
I didn't crawl into a forsaken cave to die. I came to make a deal. Cursed in the womb by a demonic cultivator, my meridians were a rotting joke. Everyone at the Tiansha Star Pavilion thought I was garbage - especially my high-and-mighty fiancée, Pei Luyan. But when I bargained my remaining vitality to a floating drop of chaotic dragon blood, I didn't expect to inherit a primordial dragon spirit. Or that the great Ao Bantian would be a relentless extortionist who charges me premium spirit stones for every martial technique. Still, his power works. At the initiation tournament, Luyan opened her mouth to publicly break our engagement. I didn't let her finish. I threw the token at her feet, canceled her first, and shattered the arena with a single strike. Now, the arrogant young masters who spat on my name are lining up to get their faces slapped. Accompanied by my scam-artist sidekick and a ruthless spear-wielding rival who I might actually be falling for, I'm aiming for the Grand Zenith Tournament's ultimate prize. But as my greedy dragon goes ominously quiet about the grand reward, I have to wonder: is the pinnacle of the martial world actually an apocalyptic trap?
