My Landlady is a Liability (and a Ghost)
By @john1208
Zeger van Kessel, a certified genius whose only ambition is to achieve a state of permanent napping, has his plans for a life of blissful lethargy ruined when he inherits a ridiculously large, ridiculously dilapidated manor in the misty canal city of Breukelburg. The inheritance comes with a surprise roommate: Yfke van der Meer, the ghost of a 19th-century heiress who is spiritually duct-taped to the property. She’s dramatic, indignant, and absolutely convinced that Zeger’s great-great-grand-uncle is the scoundrel who murdered her. Unfortunately for Zeger, she's also his only key to finding a hidden family treasure that could fund his retirement into glorious slothfulness. Forced to live together, they bicker their way through a farcical investigation into a century-old murder, uncovering a plot far more ridiculous than either of them imagined. But as Zeger’s carefully constructed apathy begins to crack, he realizes the real treasure might be the ghost who’s turned his life upside down. Can a man who wants nothing more than to be left alone solve a murder for a woman who can never leave?
