Ignition in the Frost
By @john1208
Zavrina Kosh's twenty-fifth birthday begins as an ordinary morning - until she pours her coffee and a sniper’s bullet shatters her favorite mug. Burned out from her chaotic life as an underground syndicate mechanic and nursing a freshly broken heart, she acts on pure, hot-tempered impulse. Packing a single bag and telling only her fiercely loyal best friend Yelva, Zavrina drives out to a remote, snow-choked cabin in the Drezhal Mountains. Expecting total isolation, she instead finds herself captivated by Zhevan, a brooding musician playing hypnotic melodies at the local tavern. Their fleeting vacation becomes an intoxicating mix of atmospheric, fireside confessions and adrenaline-fueled snowmobile clashes against local mountain thugs. When Zavrina eventually returns to the city, they keep their spark alive through months of secret, handwritten letters. But when Zhevan unexpectedly arrives in her metropolis for a permanent reunion, the violent past Zavrina thought she left behind erupts. Hunted by the very syndicate she tried to escape, she is forced to realize that the person who orchestrated her heartbreak, ordered the sniper, and tracked her every move was the one woman she trusted implicitly. Can Zavrina and Zhevan survive the crossfire, or will their winter romance be buried in the fallout?
