The Forgotten Losses
By @Daniel Bryan
Amidst the quiet grief of Grandma Sarah's funeral, a history professor, burdened by the silent echoes of an unfulfilled academic career, finds himself inexplicably flung into the tumultuous political landscape of 17th-century England. His grandmother's passing, unremarkable to most, ignites a dormant power within him: the ability to witness the 'forgotten losses' - the true, unrecorded human cost of historical events, manifesting as spectral figures clinging to significant artifacts. This power, a double-edged sword, grants him unparalleled insight but also plunges him into a moral dilemma. Can he, a mere observer of the past, intervene to save the 'lost souls' he now perceives, even if it risks altering the very history he reveres? The court of Charles I, rife with intrigue and shadowed by impending civil war, becomes his unexpected stage.
