Smiling Through the Shattered Heavens

By @john1208

Lin Wanxiao was supposed to be the tragic, delicate White Lotus heroine of 'Chronicles of the Jade Heavens', destined to cry softly while powerful men fought over her. Instead, she awakens at her sect master’s funeral with a startling realization: romance is a colossal waste of cultivation time, and her ruined Taiheng Sect desperately needs a new main hall. Maintaining her wide-eyed, cheerful airhead persona, Wanxiao begins turning her would-be harem into a free, highly-skilled construction crew. When the brooding Demonic Sovereign He Lianjue swoops in to kidnap her, she cheerfully hands him a trowel and lectures him on how his impure romantic thoughts are severely clogging his Yang meridians. Ironically, her ruthless efficiency - hidden behind a sunny smile - only makes He Lianjue fall harder. The narrative flips between Wanxiao’s pragmatic base-building and He Lianjue’s sweeping, utterly one-sided romantic epic. But as Wanxiao dodges marriage proposals by prescribing celibacy sutras, a darker plot brews. Her sweet, fiercely loyal best friend Su Qingluo holds a secret that could permanently destroy the sect. Can Wanxiao rebuild her home before her oblivious suitors accidentally shatter the realm, or will her closest ally stab her in the back first?
