Gunfire and Spilled Wine
By @john1208
The rain at my father’s funeral hadn't even stopped when Levon Karras arrived to collect a blood debt. My reckless brother had stolen a massive shipment of narcotics from the city's most ruthless cartel, and Levon came to claim my family's lives as payment. I didn't beg or cower. I walked right up to the undisputed king of Belzanto and slapped him across the face for disrespecting the dead.
I expected a bullet. Instead, I got an ultimatum: marry him to erase the debt. I thought I was walking into a cage, but Levon’s deadly obsession quickly proves to be a shield. When I threw a glass of wine in his face during a tense syndicate dinner to establish my boundaries, he didn't punish me - he smiled. But our twisted sanctuary is under siege. An undercover cop is blackmailing me to wear a wire, and a rival boss is tearing the city apart to capture me. As Levon violently burns the underworld to ash to keep me safe, I uncover the devastating truth about our enemy: the drugs my brother stole are the only cure for the rival boss's dying child. With the city drowning in blood, can I survive a war where the villain might just be right?
