Chapter 1 - The First Look It was an ordinary morning at school. Lumi was walking up the stairs with Aida and Ioana, while Laura and Elisa were talking a few steps behind them. - Come on, Lumi! Aida said, laughing. The bell is going to ring! - I'm coming! When Lumi reached the next floor, she stopped for a moment and looked down toward the entrance. There was Darius. He was with Sebastian, Fabian, Lucas and Manu. Lucas was Darius's best friend, and Manu was usually with them too. Darius looked up at exactly the same moment Lumi looked at him. They stared at each other for a few seconds. - What are you looking at? Darius asked. Lumi raised an eyebrow. - Me? You're looking at me! - I wasn't even looking at you. - Sure... Aida started laughing. - Are you two already arguing? - We're not arguing! they said at the same time. Lucas looked at Manu and smiled. - I think these two are going to have problems. - Or they're going to get along really well, Manu replied. - Never! Darius said. Lumi looked at him and smiled slightly. - I wouldn't be able to get along with him either. But as she walked away, she looked back one more time. Darius did the same. --- Chapter 2 - “I Can't Stand You” Over the next few days, Lumi and Darius seemed to argue about everything. - You took my pen! - It was on my desk. - Because you put it there! - Then get another one. - You're impossible! - And you're really annoying. Sebastian started laughing. - Can you two seriously not get along? - No! they both answered. But something had changed. Every time Darius entered the classroom, Lumi noticed. Every time Lumi laughed with her friends, Darius looked at her without even realizing it. And little by little, their arguments didn't seem so serious anymore.
