The Void-Thread Manuscript
By @john1208
Dr. Aris Thorne, a reclusive paleolinguist, believed the cryptic symbols on the recently unearthed *Void-Thread Manuscript* were merely a linguistic puzzle. Haunted by the slow decay of his sister’s mind to an unknown ailment, he sought order in ancient chaos. But deciphering the manuscript wasn't a breakthrough; it was an infection. The symbols weren't words, but living schematics, fragments of a cosmic intelligence too vast to comprehend. Aris now perceives distortions in reality - shadows that hum with impossible geometry, whispers that rewrite his memories, and the chilling sensation of something *other* observing through his own eyes. The manuscript’s 'curse' isn’t death, but an insidious assimilation, slowly overwriting his consciousness with an alien will, compelling him to transcribe its horrific truths. Each new 'recipient' he infects by sharing the knowledge doesn't just suffer; they become a node in a growing, sentient network, their minds merging into a collective that hungers for ultimate assimilation, twisting the world into a monstrous mosaic. Aris realizes he’s not merely a victim, but a reluctant herald, a conduit for an entity that seeks to rewrite all of existence. Can he sever this psychic umbilical cord before his own self is utterly consumed, and the world along with it?
