In the cutthroat legal world of Los Angeles, Nicholas Raymond, a brilliant 26-year-old lawyer, is renowned for his smooth-talking and intricate strategies, adapting his approach to every individual he encounters. Despite his professional prowess, Nick grapples with a hot-headed nature and a deep-seated fear of losing control, stemming from his politician father's manipulative influence. He's secretly admired Alice Capelle, a fiercely independent feminist writer, lawyer, and speaker, for three years; their shared apartment complex a constant, tantalizing proximity. When a high-stakes case forces them to collaborate at Shaw, Patterson & Associates, their unspoken attraction ignites. But as their professional and personal lives intertwine, Nick's carefully constructed plans begin to unravel, threatening to expose his vulnerabilities and the painful truth behind his father's polished facade, which could destroy both his career and his chance at love.
