The Obsidian Gambit
By @john1208
The strange courier delivery wasn't a bomb, but it felt like one: a pristine envelope containing my medical death sentence. Six months. That’s all the time I have left before my nervous system completely collapses. With my days numbered, I have exactly two goals: execute a cold, flawless revenge against Drystan, the ex who betrayed me, and secure a future for my five-year-old son, Tavian. My target for the latter? Zavien Morvath, the ruthless diamond tycoon, my former university rival, and the man I slept with in a drunken, spiteful haze the night Drystan dumped me. Applying as the Head Gemologist at Zavien's empire, I mask my desperation with shameless flirting and cheeky arrogance. But Tavian is a genius, secretly crushing Zavien in anonymous online chess matches. As Zavien grows obsessed with finding this mysterious grandmaster, his near-misses with Tavian in the corporate lobby threaten to expose my entire operation. When Zavien finally connects the dots, he doesn't sue for custody - he uses our son to mercilessly blackmail me into his penthouse. He thinks he's trapping a corporate spy, but what happens when the billionaire discovers his captive bride is secretly counting down her final days?
