The Scion of Threads
By @john1208
Kaelen Veridian, last living descendant of a clandestine society known only as the 'Thread Weavers,' has spent his entire life cloistered, trained in the arcane arts of geomancy, intuitive medicine, forgotten tongues, and pattern foresight. On his twenty-third birthday, a centuries-old decree demands he undertake the 'Unraveling' - a trial to prove his worth beyond inherited power. Stripped of his family's vast, secret influence and forbidden from employing his extraordinary skills, Kaelen is cast into the bustling, indifferent heart of the modern metropolis of Valerius. He must navigate the complexities of everyday life - finding a job, paying rent, forging genuine connections - all while resisting the urge to mend the broken patterns he instinctively perceives. As veiled threats from within his own lineage, and the growing chaos of the city itself, begin to test his resolve, Kaelen grapples with his identity and the alluring possibility of a life woven by his own choices, not just fate.
