My Suitors Are Fuel for the Doomsday Array
By @john1208
Told in close third person, the story begins on the blood-soaked deathbed of Maliwan, the tragic cannon-fodder younger martial sister of the Chedi of Seven Dawns. Just as she dies of a broken heart, her blood seeps into the floorboards - revealing a forbidden, continent-spanning Mandala formation ticking down to absolute annihilation in three hundred days. Snapping back to the start of the year, Maliwan abandons the petty romantic plotlines of her peers. She has the world to save, and she needs hands to dig the ley-lines. Endlessly kind-hearted, Maliwan cannot bring herself to explicitly reject the sudden, inexplicable advances of the arrogant original male lead, Prince Virote. Instead, she cheerfully hands him a volatile demonic core to stabilize for twelve hours. Soon, every powerful cultivator in the realm is vying for her affection by enduring excruciating manual labor for her ancient magical research. All the while, her panicky sidekick Gawin harbors a bittersweet, unspoken love for her, knowing her heart belongs only to the structural integrity of the realm. But as the hidden doomsday clock ticks closer to zero, will all this free labor be enough to rewrite the apocalypse?
