It is 2005, and seventeen-year-old rebel Chloe Vance lives for two things: her worn-out electric guitar and keeping her family's failing indie music venue, The Underground, from being demolished. Enter Julian Carter, the infuriatingly perfect student council president and son of the ruthless real estate mogul buying up their historic street. Chloe views him as a heartless corporate puppet; Julian sees her as a chaotic liability. When a local 'Battle of the Bands' offers a prize pool massive enough to save the venue, Chloe is forced into a desperate alliance with her sworn enemy when her own lead guitarist abandons her. Julian, secretly desperate to escape his father's suffocating expectations, strikes a deal: he will play keyboard for her, but they must keep their partnership hidden from both their warring social circles. As late-night rehearsals spark an undeniable, dangerous chemistry, they must decide if they are playing to win, or playing with fire.
