Chen Mo: "I didn't insult you, are you satisfied?" Xi Siyan beckoned to him, signaling him to go up. Chen Mo got up and went upstairs, only to find that Director Lai's office was empty. He left the doorway and looked back at the people behind him. "Where are they?" "He went to a meeting." "Then why did he make me wait here?" Xi Siyan seemed to think for a moment before replying, "Maybe I was afraid I wouldn't be able to resist hitting you, so I decided to find someone else." He added, "Director Lai asked me to give you a crash course; you must get into the top ten next month." Chen Mo suddenly looked up: "You agreed?" The squad leader gave a sinister smile, "You think I wanted this?" "Then give up," Chen Mo said calmly. "You can't get in." "I said you can go in, unless you do it on purpose." Xi Siyan's left hand touched the back of Chen Mo's head and pressed him forward, indicating: "See? Fourth floor. Director Lai said if you can't go in, he'll take you and jump off from here." Chen Mo turned around and smelled the faint scent emanating from the other person again. He said earnestly, "Xi Siyan." "Um." "Director Lai meant to take you along, right?" In fact, Lai Xianfu's original words were: "Didn't you encourage people to write reports? You just want to stir up trouble, don't you? Do you think I don't know that those guys in your experimental class have wanted to replace Teacher Bai for a long time!" Xi Siyan was being realistic: it was normal that she was eliminated because she insisted on sticking to the old teaching methods. Lai Xianfu slammed his fist on the table: "Arrogant! One or two of them are completely ignorant of their own limitations!" But he didn't seem genuinely angry. He added: I can transfer Teacher Bai to a regular class, on the condition that you help Chen Mo get into the top ten. Xi Siyan: I can't take it. Director Lai: You can't teach? Then why have you been giving out exam questions every year? If you can't teach, I'll jump off this building! At this moment, Xi Siyan felt the slightly prickly texture of the fur on his palm. His eyes, which had turned to look back, opened at the corners, losing their usual languid droop, and his emotions were evident in his eyes. "He didn't say he'd take me," Xi Siyan said calmly. Chen Mo: "That's perfect, wouldn't it be better if we let each other off the hook?" The next second, Xi Siyan said in a perfectly normal tone, "Too late. If you can't make it into the top ten, I'll send you off." Chapter 15 This Friday afternoon, school is closed, and there is no evening self-study session. The other two in the dormitory went home early. Chen Mo picked up a package from the guardhouse and returned to the dormitory. Before he could even open it, a message popped up on his QQ account from an anonymous friend he had just added. Did you send the money? Chen Mo glanced at his phone screen, and two seconds later replied: Do a good deed every day. Guessing the other party wouldn't believe it, I replied: I just saw your help request post on the community forum. The other end quickly replied: "Too much money." Chen Mo: Aren't you a college student? And a programming major at that? You might become a big shot in the industry someday. Just think of me as an investment; I'm not in a rush to get a return in five or ten years. Half a minute later, the other end replied: "Thank you." Chen Mo: You're welcome. Chen Mo smiled as he looked at his phone, which was no longer lit. He didn't plan to tell the other person his real name, since no one would believe that someone who could come up with that much money was currently a high school sophomore. Twenty-eight-year-old Chen Mo wasn't just busy fighting Yang Zhi like ants. He also owned a small, newly established technology company, which wasn't legally registered under his name, so not many people knew about it. His partner is a tech genius who specializes in artificial intelligence. This is the poor college student currently on the phone who is unable to raise enough money for medical expenses because his mother is paralyzed from the waist down. In the future, he will be known as Old K, and his personality is as serious and taciturn as he sends this message. On the day of the accident, Chen Mo didn't have many regrets, but he felt a little sorry for Lao K. The company was just starting out when he, the investor, died and abandoned the company. It hadn't been long since he and Yang Zhi had joined forces, and he didn't have much capital left to spare. Whether Old K later found a suitable investor is unknown. Chen Mo couldn't make up for it; this was all he could do. Chen Mo opened his phone and looked at the money he had invested recently. Today, the returns were beginning to show. Although there was a hint of speculation involved, he had at least used theories he had learned and years of accumulated experience. He didn't mention opening a lottery for hundreds of millions, partly because he couldn't remember the numbers, but he figured it would be foolish not to make money when it's available. Chen Mo exited the earnings interface without any psychological burden. Another message popped up on my phone. This time it was the familiar husky avatar, and just like Chen Mo remembered, it kept buzzing with messages as soon as he sent them. Gou Yiyang: What are you doing? Gou Yiyang: I heard you didn't go home. Gou Yiyang: Want to go out for dinner? It's still early. Gou Yiyang: ...Asleep? Chen Mo: Who are they? Gou Yiyang: I didn't sleep, that's good. Gou Yiyang: You saw those guys at the internet cafe last time, those bastards are still thinking about how you didn't get to treat them. But don't worry, it's just a get-together, we're not really planning to scam you. Chen Mo recalled that day; they hadn't been able to have the barbecue as planned, and he ended up going to the hospital. Chen Mo hesitated for two seconds: Go, give me the address, let you guys scam me. Gou Yiyang sent him a thumbs-up emoji that almost filled the entire screen. Half an hour later, Chen Mo met up with Gou Yiyang and his group at a night market stall two streets away from the internet cafe they had visited before. There were quite a few people, probably around ten, including a few familiar faces and some girls. "Here! Young Master Mo!" Someone waved to him from afar. Chen Mo walked over to the group of people and sat down in the extra seat next to Gou Yiyang. He looked around and asked, "Is everyone here?" "We've been waiting for you." Gou Yiyang placed a bottle of beer in front of him. Chen Mo pushed the bottle aside and said, "I don't drink. Order whatever you want to eat; it's on me."
