Evelyn discovers that the manor's surveillance system, thought to be for security, was actually designed by Alexander to monitor his guests' every move, making her realize the true extent of his manipulation and deepening her distrust of everyone, including herself for not seeing it sooner. The surveillance monitor flickers, briefly displaying a chilling, distorted image of a shadowy figure, cloaked and anonymous, standing directly behind Evelyn in the very room she’s in, before dissolving into static, leaving her breath caught in her throat.
