Chapter 3: The Architect of Perception and Might

The resonant clang of steel on steel, a symphony of industry, echoed through the vast, open-air workshops of Xebec's Forge. It was a sound Carl had become intimately familiar with over the last two years, a constant reminder of the kingdom's might and its insatiable drive for innovation. From his perch on a low, sun-warmed stone wall, a position he'd carefully selected for its strategic view of both a training yard and a less-trafficked administrative path, the world unfolded before him.
His two-year-old body was still a constraint, a frustrating limitation on his adult mind, but it also offered a unique cover. Who would suspect a child, barely able to walk steadily, of possessing the analytical prowess of a reincarnated martial arts master and a burgeoning scientist? It allowed him to observe, unencumbered, the subtle dance of power that permeated every facet of this world.
His gaze settled on the training yard, where Commander Jareth, a man whose physique suggested years of rigorous discipline, was sparring with a group of younger recruits. Jareth moved with a fluid economy of motion, deflecting blows before they fully formed, sidestepping attacks that seemed to erupt from blind spots. It wasn't just speed; Carl observed a preternatural awareness, a fraction of a second's advantage that allowed Jareth to anticipate. A recruit would feint left, but Jareth's block was already moving, not in response, but almost *ahead* of the feint's completion.
*A heightened sense of perception,* Carl mused internally, categorizing the observation. *Not merely vision or hearing, but an intuitive grasp of intent, of kinetic potential. A 'sixth sense'.*
He had spent countless hours in the quiet corners of his father Elara’s study, ostensibly playing with wooden blocks, but in reality, poring over fragmented, often poetic, descriptions of these abilities. The scholars of Xebec's Forge were meticulous record-keepers, though their understanding of such phenomena was more descriptive than analytical. They spoke of the tricolor haki , but not much on how to train them . As Carl observes Commander Jareth from afar, he begins to deduce the possible way to train the observational haki. For his view, Commander Jareth is just a primary observational haki user and with proper training, he can enhance his capabilities further. Therefore, he told one of the servants to call Commander Jareth to his room in the evening for some small talk.
Time flows by and the sun begins to set , Commander Jareth after cleaning himself comes to the Carl Grenett room . He sits on the chair quietly and begins waiting for the young master to come and see him.
" Young Master Carl, it is an Honor to meet you . I am Jareth, one of your father's loyal commanders. May I ask, what can I do for you ? ". Carl replied " Can you tell me how you develop that capabilities of your ?" . Flustered, Commander Jareth asks back " what capabilities are you asking my lord ? " . " How you react to the trainee feint and dodge before he fully attacks you . That ability ". " I see, I am sorry my lord, I myself am not sure how it happened. As my lord knows, before I was employed by your father, I used to work as a mercenary and as a mercenary , I joined many wars and I was constantly in life and death situations. One time, I almost died in the hand of the enemy soldier and suddenly I felt time moved very slowly and I was able to see the direction of the enemy attack. Since then, if I focus myself, I can see most of the nearby attacks even from behind my back or if I close my eyes.
Carl hears the commander's story and begins to come to several conclusions. " Commander, do you mind if I touch your back while you use that ability?" . Confused, Commander Jareth said , " sure my lord " . Carl walks behind him and asks him to sit straight . Then , Carl put both his hands on Commanders back. He began to use one of his capabilities from his previous life, 'Qi Scan' . He projects his inner qi into Commander's body and starts to allow it to flow along the commander's body. As the qi reaches his brain, Carl senses a presence of new pure energy quite similar but different from qi. The pure energy flow in a unique tract in Commanders mind and project some sort of wave outward and return back. From these, Carl inferred that if one was able to have energy flow in the unique tract, one will be able to develop and train the observation haki. He thanked Commander Jareth and began to leave.
That night , in his own room, Carl tries to imitate the way Commander Jareth does. He uses his qi to flow along the unique tract and try to simulate what he sees this evening. Initially, it was difficult and he failed to even follow the path properly . However, after multiple attempts , he was finally able to make his qi flow along the tract. However, there are no changes felt, he did not feel anything near him and he did not see anything behind him as an observational haki user does. This makes him feel sad and disappointed. As he planned to stop his qi flow, he realized that his qi is not the same as that pure energy. Thus hi begins to use his qi to scan his whole body and try to find the pure energy. He believed that everyone will have that pure energy in his or her body. After scanning his body from head to toe, he detects faint energy at two different places, in his heart and just below his navel. However, the energy is very minute and minimal in amount. Without wasting time, Carl uses his qi to guide the pure energy from his heart toward the unique tract in the brain. It was an arduous task because the pure energy is very faint . After trying for two and half hours, the pure energy finally reaches the tract. As the pure energy flows along the tract, Carl begins to feel that the time slows down and he faintly feels the presence of his surroundings. He tried to maintain that sensation but the pure energy depleted and he started to faint .
