It was 10:55 P.M. when I carried Park Seoyoon through the gate into Gangwondo’s Portal. Thankfully, the terminal was nearly empty. I gently set her down on a nearby bench. She glanced at her smartwatch, her voice a pained murmur.
“It’s almost curfew.”
I was speechless. The idea of her returning to Cheong-un in this state was ridiculous.
“Contact your father,” I said.
“You know I can’t. Just go get treated at a hospital.”
