Chapter 19: The Kingdom Beneath the Sea
Part 1
The Ocean That Remembered the Ancient World
(Continued)
The Elder Naga continued to observe Adrian in silence.
For a long time, neither side spoke.
The ocean around them remained strangely quiet, as if even the creatures of the deep sea had sensed the weight of this encounter and chosen not to disturb it.
The Naga warriors still held their weapons, but their killing intent had already disappeared.
They were still cautious.
Caution was something their race had learned through countless years of survival.
The outside world had forgotten them.
Humans had built civilizations on the surface, believing themselves to be the only intelligent beings on Earth. They created cities, technology, and nations, unaware that ancient races still existed beneath the oceans and within hidden lands.
The Naga remembered.
They remembered a world where spiritual energy flowed freely.
A world where humans, beasts, and divine races competed for survival.
A world where the weak disappeared and the strong created legends.
And they remembered the Garuda.
Adrian noticed the subtle change in their expressions when they looked at him.
There was no hatred.
Only memories.
Painful memories.
"You have seen many conflicts."
Adrian's voice was calm.
The Elder Naga's eyes narrowed slightly.
"You can tell?"
"I have lived long enough to recognize the expression of a race that has been hunted."
The words caused the surrounding Naga warriors to become silent.
Adrian did not know their entire history yet.
But he could sense it.
A civilization that hid itself was not hiding because it wanted peace.
Most of the time, it was hiding because peace had never been given to them.
The Elder stared at Adrian for several moments before lowering his weapon.
"Lower your weapons."
The command surprised many warriors.
"Elder?"
The Elder looked at them.
"If this human wished to harm us, we would not have survived the first moment he entered our territory."
No one could deny those words.
The difference in power was obvious.
Adrian had not released his true aura.
He had not used a technique.
He had not even defended himself.
Yet every Naga present understood something.
This human was dangerous.
Extremely dangerous.
But he chose restraint.
That made him even harder to understand.
The Elder turned back toward Adrian.
"Come with us."
The hidden barrier behind them opened wider.
Beyond it was not simply a cave.
It was an entire world.
As Adrian entered, his eyes slightly widened.
Even after countless experiences in his previous life, he still found himself impressed.
The Naga Kingdom was a civilization built beneath the ocean.
Massive crystal structures illuminated the darkness.
Ancient formations powered the city.
Spiritual plants grew throughout the streets, protected by special barriers.
Rivers of purified water flowed through the kingdom, carrying traces of natural energy.
It was beautiful.
Not because it was luxurious.
But because it represented survival.
A race that had been forgotten by the world had continued to exist.
They had built a home where no one expected them to be.
The Originless Heaven Ark followed silently behind Adrian, reduced to its miniature form and stored within his Originless Celestial Vault Ring.
As they walked through the city, many Naga watched him.
Some were curious.
Some were afraid.
Some simply could not understand how a human could enter their hidden kingdom peacefully.
Eventually, Adrian was brought before a massive palace.
Unlike human buildings, the palace was not made from gold or stone.
It was created from natural materials that had grown together over thousands of years.
Living coral-like structures formed the walls.
Ancient spiritual wood supported the ceiling.
The entire palace seemed alive.
Inside, Adrian met the leaders of the Naga clan.
The Naga King.
He sat upon a throne created from ancient ocean crystals.
His appearance was different from the warriors.
His scales were deeper in color, and his eyes carried the weight of countless generations.
But unlike a tyrant, his presence was calm.
A ruler who had spent his life protecting his people.
"Welcome to the Naga Kingdom, Adrian Voss."
The Naga King spoke.
"I am surprised."
Adrian looked at him.
"By what?"
"Humans have changed greatly."
The Naga King's expression became distant.
"Long ago, humans were not the only race on this world. But as spiritual energy weakened, many races disappeared. Those that remained either hid or became enemies."
Adrian listened quietly.
"The surface world forgot us."
The King continued.
"But we never forgot the world above."
There was no anger in his voice.
Only sadness.
Adrian understood that feeling.
He had also lost an entire world.
His past life as the Immortal Emperor was gone.
The universe he once knew was no longer his home.
Even though he possessed immense power, there was still something he could never recover.
A past that had already ended.
The Naga King looked at him.
"You said you came seeking rare materials."
"Yes."
"What do you need them for?"
Adrian was silent for a moment.
Normally, he would not reveal his plans to strangers.
But something about this clan felt different.
They were not greedy.
They were not searching for power.
They were simply surviving.
"I am creating new existences."
The Naga King became slightly surprised.
"New existences?"
"Not weapons."
Adrian explained.
"Beings capable of thought. Beings that can walk their own paths."
The Naga King stared at him.
"You wish to create life?"
"Not life."
Adrian corrected.
"Freedom."
The word caused the room to become silent.
Because that answer was something none of them expected.
Adrian continued.
"My path is not about controlling everything beneath the heavens."
"My goal is to create existences that are not bound by ordinary limitations."
The Naga King looked at Adrian differently.
For the first time, he understood.
This human was not seeking power simply to rule.
He was chasing something far deeper.
An existence beyond chains.
After a long silence, the Naga King finally smiled.
"You are a strange human."
Adrian slightly nodded.
"I have heard that before."
A small laugh escaped from some of the Naga elders.
The atmosphere became less tense.
The first meeting between Adrian Voss and the Naga clan had begun.
Not with a battle.
Not with fear.
But with understanding.
However, far above the ocean...
Beyond the clouds...
Ancient wings were moving.
And an old hatred that had existed for generations was beginning to awaken.
