Reboot System, Live Fully

She looked at the interface. The numerical value, now a verdant 150%, pulsed gently. The word ‘TERMINATION’ had vanished entirely, replaced by a soft, warm glow. Her fingers twitched against the polished glass of the screen, steadying as the numbers shifted.
Ji-han met her gaze, his smile tender, a silent question in his kind eyes. Mochi gave a soft, expectant whimper.
Yoona took a deep breath. She pressed the 'accept call' icon, then immediately, decisively, the ‘end call’ icon.
Ji-han’s eyebrows rose, a soft gasp escaping him.
“Yoona… what did you just do?”
“I hung up,” she stated, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Her fingers, still tingling from the unexpected contact, found Mochi’s soft fur. “And I think I just made my first real decision.”
The following days were a whirlwind of controlled chaos that left the entire NEXUS Tower reeling. Yoona, the stoic, unyielding CEO, moved with a newfound, almost alarming serenity.
Her first announcement came during an emergency board meeting, where the assembled executives, still reeling from the unexpected hang-up, sat in stunned disbelief.
“Effective immediately,” Yoona’s voice resonated through the cavernous room, calm yet unwavering, “I am appointing Kim Jeong-woo as the new Chief Operating Officer. His diligence and understanding of NEXUS’s core vision are unparalleled. He will oversee all day-to-day operations and strategic execution.”
Jeong-woo, her long-suffering second-in-command, a man who had only ever known Yoona’s demands, not her warmth, looked as if he might faint.
“Furthermore,” she continued, ignoring the murmurs, “I will be delegating my executive duties across the senior leadership team. My role will shift to a more advisory capacity, focusing on long-term innovation and new market exploration.” She paused, allowing the gravity of her words to settle.
“And finally, I am allocating 100 billion won from the NEXUS corporate social responsibility fund to launch the ‘NEXUS Mind & Soul Initiative.’ This program will provide comprehensive mental health support, mandatory wellness breaks, and flexible work arrangements for all employees, globally. A healthy mind,” Yoona said, looking directly at the stunned Chairperson Ahn, “is our greatest asset.”
The ensuing silence was thick enough to cut with a corporate credit card.
After the meeting, Jeong-woo found her in her office, clutching a tablet to his chest. “CEO Shim… are you… well? This is… unprecedented.”
Yoona offered him a small, genuine smile. “I’ve never been better, Jeong-woo. Now, I trust you’ll handle the transition with your usual brilliance. I’m taking Mochi for a walk.”
Later that week, Yoona sat across from Ji-han in his small, cluttered office at The Paw & Cuddle Clinic. The scent of antiseptic and damp fur was oddly comforting.
“So,” Ji-han began, a nervous energy about him, “I’ve been crunching numbers for the sanctuary. Land acquisition, construction, initial staffing… it’s a big dream, Yoona. A really big dream.” He pushed a thick binder across the desk, its cover adorned with a crude, cheerful drawing of various animals.
Yoona ignored the binder. She pulled out her sleek NEXUS-branded stylus and her digital notepad. After a few taps, a single document appeared.
“This is a pre-approved transfer. Two hundred billion won. Sufficient to acquire the designated land in the Seonam district, build a state-of-the-art facility, establish a robust endowment for long-term operational costs, and hire the best veterinary staff in the country.”
Ji-han’s jaw went slack. He blinked. “Two… two hundred billion? Yoona, that’s… that’s enough to build a small city of sanctuaries.”
“Good,” she replied, her gaze firm. “Then build a city. I want Mochi’s legacy to be an actual haven, not just a gilded cage. And I want you to make it real, Ji-han. For all the Mochi’s of the world.”
Months melted into a vibrant blur. The NEXUS Tower, under Jeong-woo’s confident leadership and the new wellness initiatives, hummed with a different energy. Yoona found herself spending more time outdoors, in parks, even on hiking trails she once dismissed as inefficient. Her apartment, once a sterile monument to solitude, now housed blooming plants and a comfortable, oversized armchair where Mochi often napped beside her.
The grand opening of the ‘Seonam Paw Haven’ was a riot of color and joyous sound. Children chased fluffy puppies, volunteers laughed as they herded curious kittens, and the air buzzed with genuine warmth. The sprawling facility, nestled against a backdrop of rolling green hills, brought Ji-han’s detailed blueprints into brick and cedar, funded entirely by her redirected capital.
Yoona, dressed in soft linen trousers and a simple cream-colored blouse, laughed freely as Mochi, surprisingly agile for his age, attempted to play-fight with a golden retriever twice his size. Her hair, usually confined to a severe bun, was tied back loosely, strands escaping to frame her relaxed face.
Ji-han, looking utterly exhausted but beaming, approached her, a smudge of dirt on his cheek.
“It’s… it’s perfect, Yoona. More than I ever imagined.”
She looked around, her eyes catching on the vibrant scenes. The holographic interface, a constant companion, shimmered almost imperceptibly at the edge of her vision. The green bar, once perilously low, was now a deep, rich emerald, practically overflowing. Small, whimsical icons flashed across it.

The words ‘Estimated Lifespan: Long and Happy’ glowed with a comforting permanence. Her grandmother’s mischievous game, the one she had resented, the one she had fought against, had become her roadmap.
She turned to Ji-han, the sharp edges of her usual reserve long dissolved. His eyes, crinkled at the corners from constant smiling, held a depth of understanding she had once thought impossible. He reached out, his fingers brushing hers, anchoring her to the grass and the morning sun.
“It’s just the beginning,” she said, her smile genuine, heartfelt, and entirely her own. The interface, unseen by him but felt by both, pulsed with a quiet, joyful energy, confirming that her life’s glitch was, indeed, its best feature.
