Reingniting The Heat

As the afternoon drifted on, the quiet comfort in the living room began to shift into something far warmer and more intense. The soft glow of the floor lamp joined the dimming sunlight outside, casting a warm, romantic light across the apartment. Adam reached over to set their empty coffee mugs onto the wooden coffee table before turning back to Paris, pulling her easily onto his lap so she was facing him on the sofa.
Paris wrapped her arms around his bare neck, running her fingers through his dark curls as his hands slid up from her waist to frame her face. "Are you still tired?" Adam whispered, his voice dropping into a lower, richer register that sent a tiny shiver trailing down her spine. "Not at all," Paris admitted softly, her breath catching in her throat as his lips found hers again. This kiss was completely different—deeper, hotter, and filled with an urgent need that had been building all day. Adam shifted his weight, turning her gently so she was pinned comfortably beneath him on the long sofa cushions, his hands trailing fire across her waist as he kissed his way down her neck and collarbone.
