The cerulean light around Bramir pulsed, casting the Developer’s Room in an alien glow. His eyes, twin points of calculated light, swept over them, devoid of warmth. They landed on Kyradis atop Rimefang.
“A foreign entity accessing core functions,” Bramir’s voice was a flat, synthesized tone, resonating from the very air. “Unsanctioned mana signatures detected. Deleting unauthorized processes.”

Kyradis screamed, a sound ripped from her throat as if physically torn. The intricate, glowing runic tattoos across her arms, the very source of her elven magic, flared with an agonizing brilliance, then dimmed, fading like embers in a sudden gust. Her emerald-green eyes, moments ago alight with defiance, now held only a blank terror. Rimefang, sensing the sudden emptiness from his rider, let out a guttural snarl, its scales bristling.
“My magic… it’s gone!” Kyradis choked, her voice thin. “He just… deleted it!”
Bramir ignored her, his gaze now fixed on the barely conscious Nilya, clutched in Korshan’s arms. The holographic timer above Nilya’s chest, frozen at an agonizing 70%, suddenly surged.
[ADMIN COMMAND: ACCELERATE_SOUL_DECAY_NILYA_DRAST_ID:0xCC1F2. PARAMETER: 99.9%. STATUS: EXECUTING.]
The blue digits blurred, flickering through 75%, 80%, 90% in a horrifying rush. Then, with a stark, finality, it settled: 99.9%. Below it, a new line appeared, counting down with ruthless precision: [00:00:05.47].
Five seconds. Nilya drew a ragged, shallow breath as a tremor shook her frame. Her eyes, clouded with the curse, fluttered open for a brief, disoriented moment, finding Korshan’s face. A weak, confused smile touched her lips before they sagged again.
Fury, cold and absolute, ignited in Korshan. He felt Iscara shift beside him, her mana radiating with lethal intent. “Stay back,” he grated, pushing her gently behind him. This was his fight. He couldn’t risk her.
[00:00:04.12]
He laid Nilya carefully on a discarded data-shard console, a silent promise burning in his stare. Then he launched himself. Not with a shout, not with an attack, but with a full-body slide, angling himself low towards Bramir’s luminous form.
Bramir, unmoving, raised a hand. The air around it condensed, warping under compressed data. Korshan felt the pre-impact tremor, the subtle tell of an unblockable attack he knew intimately from countless speedrun failures.
[ADMIN STRIKE: INSTA-KILL PROTOCOL. COLLISION DETECTED. UNAVOIDABLE.]
Korshan’s body slid into a perfectly timed dodge-roll just as Bramir’s hand cleaved through the space where his head had been. The 'unavoidable' blow, calibrated to erase his existence, passed *through* him, leaving a kinetic shockwave that still slammed into his spine with the force of an iron ram. He felt a sickening *crack* as something in his lower back gave way. Pain flared, blinding and immediate, but he kept moving, rolling out of the phantom impact.
[00:00:03.01]
“His invincibility frames,” Iscara breathed, tracking his shift in position. “Even an Admin Strike can’t touch him during a perfect roll.”
“But the kinetic force still does,” Korshan grunted, pushing through the agony. He couldn’t feel his legs for a moment, then a searing pain returned, telling him they were still attached, if fractured. He had to keep track of the remaining I-frames after each perfect dodge. It was a race against the timer, and against his own crumbling body.
Bramir brought his other hand down, a sweeping gesture that painted a brilliant arc of cerulean light across the room. Korshan rolled again, the sound of the Dev Room’s geometric floor *imploding* where he’d been ringing in his ears. This time, a shard of data-crystal, sheared from the ground by the pure force, embedded itself in his shoulder. He barely registered it. His vision swam.
[00:00:02.19]
He watched the timer, a cruel digital countdown to Nilya’s end. He couldn’t win this with conventional attacks. Bramir was invulnerable. But speedrunning wasn’t about conventional fights. It was about *breaking* the game.
He launched himself again, a desperate, limping sprint. Bramir manifested a crystalline spear of pure light, thrusting it forward with impossible speed.
Korshan didn’t dodge. Instead, he twisted, throwing his body forward, catching the spear’s tip with his ribs. He felt the spear *punch* through him, a searing, unimaginable agony, but he kept his grip, his bloodied hands closing around Bramir’s arm. He used the momentum, the forced proximity, to launch himself into a grapple.
[00:00:01.55]
Bramir’s cold gaze fractured, a micro-expression of surprise twitching across his data-sculpted face. He had not accounted for a target willingly taking a fatal impalement.
“What are you doing?!” Kyradis shrieked, fear contorting her face. Iscara let out a choked cry, her hand instinctively reaching out.
Korshan coughed, blood bubbling at his lips. The spear had pierced his lung. He was dying. But a glint of manic triumph entered his eyes. He’d carefully managed his HP, letting the previous shockwaves and the data-crystal shard reduce it to a specific decimal point: 0.0001%.
[ADMIN STRIKE: INSTA-KILL PROTOCOL. FATAL DAMAGE DETECTED. PLAYER HEALTH: 0.0001%. OVER-DAMAGE THRESHOLD EXCEEDED.]
[ERROR: OVER-DAMAGE OVERFLOW! CRITICAL SYSTEM FAILURE! UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: INTEGER OVERFLOW IN HEALTH CALCULATION. REBOOTING…]
Bramir froze. The cerulean glow around him sputtered, his eyes locking into a blank, unseeing stare. The floating glyphs around him halted mid-spin. He was a statue, suspended in the moment of his own unstoppable attack.
[00:00:00.67]
But the System didn’t just reboot. It fractured. The Developer’s Room, with its geometric plains and cascading code, began to tear. Lines of emerald data dissolved into static. The very air pixelated, chunks of reality winking out of existence as if deleted by a colossal, invisible hand.
[WORLD_FILE_CORRUPTED. REALITY_INTEGRITY_0.000001%. PROTOCOL: WORLD_ERASE_SELF. INIT_DELETE. Y/N?]
Korshan, the spear still impaled through him, watched the world unravel. He was dying, the agony a dull roar, but the glitch had worked. Bramir was frozen. Nilya’s timer, however, was still ticking, though frozen at 0.67 seconds, awaiting the world’s final deletion. If the world went, Nilya went too. And everyone else.
[WORLD_ERASE_SELF. STATUS: 1% COMPLETE. TO HALT WORLD_ERASE_SELF, PLAYER_KORSHAN_DRAST_ID:0xAA2B9 MUST INITIATE REBOOT_SEQUENCE. WARNING: REBOOT_SEQUENCE REQUIRES_PLAYER_DELETION. CONFIRM PLAYER_DELETION? Y/N?]
He had crashed the game. And now, the only way to save it, to save Nilya, was to delete himself. To erase his existence from the code, to ensure his own permanent, unrevivable death, just like the game had always intended. He could let the world end, or choose his own end. He stared at the rapidly disappearing reality, then at Nilya’s pale face, and at the blinking prompt, waiting for his final input.
