Chapter 6 of 6

Sunset Sanctuary

159 words

As dusk settled over the city, casting long purple and gold shadows across the living room walls, the apartment fell into a quiet, peaceful stillness once again. The city lights outside began to twinkle to life through the large window, casting soft specks of light across the quiet ceiling. Adam lay on his side on the wide sofa, pulling a heavy, soft knit throw blanket over both of them to shield against the cool evening air settling in. Paris rested her head securely on his warm, bare chest, her hand resting over his heart as she listened to its steady, comforting beat. Adam wrapped his arm tightly around her shoulders, resting his chin on top of her dark curls and pressing a tender kiss to her hair. Wrapped up together on the sofa with nowhere else to be, they watched the quiet evening unfold, completely content in the warm, private sanctuary they had spent the entire day building together.
