Chapter 1: The Serpent's Sting
2.0k words
The air crackles with spent energy, tasting like ozone and regret. Piggy Hero pushes himself up, his armor groaning with the effort, the familiar weight suddenly oppressive. His eyes fix on Medusa, who hovers above him, a victorious smirk twisting her lips. Her green scales shimmer, catching the last rays of the fading afternoon sun, making her look less like a villain and more like a cruel, beautiful ornament.
She holds the X-element, a pulsing orb of raw power, high above her head. It throbs with a soft, ominous hum. The light glints off her sharp claws, the same claws that had just swatted him aside like a fly. A bitter taste fills Piggy Hero's mouth. He’d fought hard, pushed his limits, but it hadn't been enough. She had moved with a serpentine grace he couldn't match, her speed a blur, her attacks precise and devastating.
"Look at this, Piggy Hero!" Her voice, usually a hissing whisper, now rings with an almost childish glee. She twirls the X-element playfully between her fingers, as if it were a common toy, not the key to ultimate power. "Did you really think your childish 'heroics' could stop me? Did you?" Her head tilts, her snake-hair writhing in amusement. Each serpent on her scalp seems to mock him, their tiny forked tongues flicking out.
He grits his teeth. The ache in his ribs pulses, a reminder of her strength. The X-element, meant to be protected, now fuels her arrogance. She has won this round, and she knows it. The way she preens, tossing her head, the glint in her eyes – it’s a performance, designed to strip him of any remaining dignity. He sees the mischievous glint, the '雌小鬼' energy radiating from her, a mix of power and taunting superiority.
"You won't get away with this, Medusa," he forces out, his voice hoarse. He tries to push more strength into his stance, but his legs feel like jelly. The ground beneath him is churned earth, scorched patches where her acid spit had landed. His shield lies several yards away, dented and useless.
She laughs, a sharp, unmusical sound. "Oh, but I already have! The X-element is mine! And you? You're just another fallen hero, ready to be swept away." She makes a dismissive gesture with her free hand, her gaze lingering on his battered form, savoring the moment. He can feel the heat of her triumphant gaze, a burning shame spreading through him. He failed. The X-element is lost. The thought makes his stomach churn, heavier than any physical blow.
---
Medusa’s laughter echoes across the ravaged landscape, a symphony of her victory. The X-element hums in her grasp, its power a warm, intoxicating rush through her veins. She savors the sight of Piggy Hero struggling, his face a mask of defeat. This was how it should be. The weak should kneel before the strong. Her serpentine hair writhes with satisfaction.
Then, a sudden, blinding flash of ice erupts from the ground beneath her. It’s too fast, too unexpected. A sharp, piercing cold instantly engulfs her, climbing rapidly up her body. One moment, she's basking in triumph; the next, an unyielding frost grips her from the chest down. Her legs, her serpentine tail – all of it encased in a thick, crystalline prison. The ice stops just below her shoulders, leaving her arms free, but her lower half is utterly paralyzed.
Her triumphant smirk falters, then shatters completely. Panic flares in her eyes, wide and disbelieving. The smugness drains away, replaced by a raw, primal fear. This wasn't supposed to happen. Her breath hitchs, a gasp trapped in her throat. She tries to move, to wriggle, but the ice holds her rigid. It’s bone-chillingly cold, seeping into her scales, threatening to freeze her very blood. Little Silly. That little idiot! He dared to ambush her?
Before she can even process the shock, another surge of pain explodes through her. A sharp, agonizing stab erupts from her frozen臀部. She cries out, a choked, high-pitched shriek of agony and humiliation. The ice around her suddenly spiderwebs with cracks, radiating from the point of impact. Mighty Pig. His crude earth spikes. The pain is searing, a burning spear through her flesh, amplified by the numbing cold. Tears well in her eyes, hot against her cold cheeks, a stark contrast to the terror in her chest. The ice around her shatters completely, splintering into countless shards that fall to the ground, leaving her exposed and vulnerable, the raw wound on her backside throbbing.
As the last ice shards clatter away, a new sensation assaults her: a sudden, powerful constriction. Thick, gnarled vines, dark green and alive, shoot up from the earth, wrapping around her with terrifying speed. They coil around her waist, her hips, her thighs, tightening relentlessly. A strange, viscous liquid glistens on their surface, like sap, but thicker, almost transparent. It touches her scales, and an immediate, mind-numbing itch erupts. It's not just an itch; it's a thousand tiny needles, boring into her skin, crawling beneath her scales, a torment beyond anything she has ever known.
She writhes, completely losing control, her body contorting in an attempt to escape the unbearable sensation. A strangled sound escapes her lips, a mix of a sob and a desperate laugh. The vines resemble grotesque tentacles, probing, squeezing. They move with an unnerving sentience, one particularly thick tendril snaking up her left side, squeezing her left breast, while another presses against her right. The itching grows, a fiery inferno of sensory overload, pushing her to the brink of madness. She is twisting, jerking, unable to stop the spasms of her body, tears streaming down her face, trapped between hysterical laughter and outright weeping. The X-element is still in her right hand, but her focus is entirely consumed by the excruciating agony.
---
The vines continue their torturous embrace, tightening further, the strange, corrosive itch burrowing deeper into Medusa’s flesh. She thrashes, her serpentine hair lashing wildly, but it does nothing to dislodge the relentless botanical restraints. The tendrils creep higher, relentless and invasive. One audacious vine, thinner than the rest but surprisingly forceful, snakes towards her face, its tip hovering near her open mouth. She’s gasping, trying to scream, but only choked sounds emerge.
Then, with a sudden, horrifying lunge, the vine plunges deep into her mouth. She gags, her throat constricting, the foreign intrusion violating her further. But as the vine probes, it bumps against something hard, something familiar, hidden in the recesses of her mouth. A strange metallic click sounds, muffled by the thick plant matter. The vine, as if guided by an unseen force, begins to pull, slowly, inexorably, retracting from her mouth.
What emerges is not just the vine, but the hilt of her serpentine sword, the 'Snake's Fang,' which she often kept secreted in her mouth. The vine had, by sheer chance, hooked onto its pommel. The sudden removal, the slickness of the vine, and the jolt of surprise give her a fraction of a second, an unexpected window of opportunity. The itch, though still present, is momentarily overshadowed by the shock of retrieval. She clamps her fingers around the familiar, cold hilt of her weapon, a flicker of cold fury replacing the panic in her eyes.
Her head snaps forward, her serpentine hair erupting. Each venomous snake on her scalp rears back, their tiny jaws snapping open. A thick, emerald mist, potent and acrid, sprays outwards in a dense cloud, engulfing the vines. The strange liquid on the vines boils and fizzles, and the vibrant green plant matter quickly shrivels, turning black and brittle. The wood dies, crumbling into ash, releasing her from its agonizing grip. The relief is instant, a sudden release from the torture, replaced by a burning desire for retribution.
Bobby, seeing his control crumble, shouts, "Reinforce the binding! Now!" But it is too late. Medusa is already free, the X-element still clutched in her right hand, the Snake's Fang now firmly in her left. With a primal roar of rage, she sweeps her sword, a blur of silver, severing the remaining withered tendrils with sharp, decisive strikes. The broken pieces fall harmlessly to the ground. Her eyes, usually pools of malevolent green, now blaze with a terrifying, vengeful fire.
She doesn't hesitate. A torrent of concentrated snake venom, a thick, corrosive stream, blasts from her mouth. It arcs towards the Piggy Heroes, who scramble to react, their faces contorted in alarm. The ground where the venom lands sizzles, blackening and smoking. She presses her advantage, a whirlwind of furious strikes and venomous spits, pushing them back, regaining the upper hand with savage intensity. Her humiliation has fueled a terrifying new resolve.
---
Piggy Hero watches, helpless, as Medusa unleashes her fury. The venom splatters near Mighty Pig, who barely rolls out of the way, coughing as the acrid fumes reach him. Little Silly trips over his own feet trying to retreat, the ice gun forgotten. Bobby shields his face with his arms, the sight of his withered vines a testament to Medusa's sudden, brutal turnaround. She moves with a savage grace, her sword a deadly extension of her rage, the X-element still humming ominously in her off-hand.
They are pinned, driven back by her relentless assault. Piggy Hero tries to rally, but the memory of her previous victory, combined with her current venomous onslaught, chills him. He sees the burning hatred in her eyes, a thirst for vengeance that eclipses her earlier arrogance. This is a different Medusa, far more dangerous. The ground around them smokes and hisses where her poison has landed.
Then, a streak of brilliant orange flashes across the sky. From above, Feifei dives, her wings beating powerfully. She lets out a piercing cry, a battle roar that cuts through the venomous haze. Medusa glances up, a flicker of annoyance crossing her face, but she doesn't break her assault on the grounded heroes. Feifei, a blur of motion, tucks her wings and descends in a controlled dive, gathering power.
"Heed the Phoenix's Flame!" Feifei bellows, her voice resonating with ancient power. A massive, swirling fireball, a sphere of pure, incandescent heat, forms in front of her. It rushes downwards, a meteor of inferno aimed directly at Medusa. The air shimmers from the intense heat as it descends. Piggy Hero feels the sudden blast of warmth, even from his distance.
Medusa hisses, finally acknowledging the aerial threat. She twists, attempting to deflect the attack with her sword, but the fireball is too large, too fast. It impacts her with a deafening explosion of light and heat. A wave of superheated air washes over the battlefield. Medusa cries out, a sound of pain and surprise, as the flames engulf her. She stumbles back, momentarily losing her footing, enveloped in the searing inferno.
Before the flames can even begin to subside, a figure emerges from the smoke, a majestic phoenix of fire, its wingspan immense. This is Fire Crane, manifesting its full power. It lets out a piercing shriek that resonates with raw elemental force. "Phoenix Nova!" Fire Crane booms, its voice echoing with the might of a true fire spirit. A brilliant, concentrated blast of fire erupts from its beak, striking Medusa square on.
The second, more focused fire attack hits her with devastating force. The air around her screams. When the fire finally dissipates, Medusa is left standing, visibly charred, smoke curling from her scales. The X-element still pulses weakly in her hand, but her upper body is exposed. Her scales are blackened in patches, her hair snakes singed and twitching weakly. But the most shocking sight is her chest – her entire upper garment has been utterly incinerated, leaving her bare from the waist up, her green scales stark against the singed skin beneath, exposed and vulnerable to their gaze.
