The Calculus of Temptation
By @Shivani Nair
Maya, a timid mathematics student, finds her quiet academic life irrevocably intertwined with the enigmatic Professor Vance. Vance, a cold, calculating prodigy, presents Maya with an impossible proposition: solve a series of ancient, cursed equations said to unravel reality itself, or face expulsion and a ruined future. As Maya delves into the forbidden theorems, she discovers each solution demands a piece of her humanity, twisting her once-pure intellect into something sharper, colder, and terrifyingly efficient. The campus, a hallowed ground of learning, conceals a sinister society that has long used these equations to manipulate global events. Maya must now decide if the allure of absolute knowledge and control is worth the price of her soul, or if she can outwit the very force that seeks to consume her. Her choices will determine not only her fate but the delicate balance of the world.
